The VitalCall solution consists of three components: the pendant, the receiver and the emergency response service, offered by our response centre.

1. Pendant

The first component, the pendant, can be worn as either a neck pendant or as a wristband. These pendants are water resistant and can be worn in the shower or when going to bed.

The pendant has a range of up to 100 metres from the receiver, depending on the layout of the home. The range can be determined when tested on demonstration in your home.

VitalCall also offers as an optional extra, a repeater, which extends the range of the pendant by a further 50 meters. This will be ideal for large homes or for certain areas where the signal strength needs to be strengthened because of low phone coverage.

2. Base Unit

The second component is the base unit, which receives an encrypted radio signal when the pendant is pressed. The receiver is plugged into a telephone line and the power supply of the home. A standard telephone fits neatly onto the base unit.

The receiver includes a very sensitive microphone and speaker, which works just like a hands free telephone. The VitalCall® Response Team can be heard through the receiver and the customer’s voice is also transmitted.

3. Response centre

The third component of the VitalCall solution is the service provided by VitalCall. VitalCall has a National Response Centre with operators that are ready to action emergency calls.  When the pendant is pressed, the receiver will dial directly to the response centre. The response centre will know where your call is coming from and can therefore address you by name. They also have a complete list of your medical history on hand, as supplied to us.

Your details as provided by the customer are displayed on a computer screen for our response operator.  The operator can talk directly to you through the receiver to establish the reason for the call for assistance, and take the most appropriate action.

If required, a sympathetic Operator will remain, talking to you, until help arrives. If the Operator can not make voice contact, one of your nominated contacts will be called. An ambulance can also be contacted in emergencies.

Every day thousands of people throughout Australia rely on VitalCall to provide them with the peace of mind that help can be sounded at the touch of a button.
