Want to join one of Australia's leading and largest security monitoring providers?  Do you enjoy dealing with customers?  SMC is always looking for customer focused and dedicated people to join the team of over 150 operators.  Monitoring positions are often available in our Brisbane and Melbourne Monitoring Centres.  

How to apply

Operator Preferences

SMC looks for the following attributes in prospective staff to work in our 24 Hour, 7 Day a week Monitoring Centres.  The right people must be able to work a variety of rotating shifts 24/7 and will have:

>   Sound computer knowledge

>   Excellent telephone manner

>   Be a team player

>   Proven customer service experience

>   Typing skills, with a minimum of 35/40 words per minute

>   Own transporation (due to shift work requirements)

>   Ability to work rotating shifts, 7 Days per week (8, 10 & 12 hr)

>   Security License (prerequisite for Victorian applicants)

Background Check

SMC reserve the right to contact your supplied referee or character references when considering any application.  SMC also requires a Police Check to be supplied, that can be obtained from your state's Police service.

Security License

Victorian applicants are required to hold a current Monitoring Operators License to be considered for a position.  It is company policy for all Queensland applicants to undergo certification for Certificate 2, Security Operations within 6 months of commencing employment with the view of achieving their Security Officers license.

Training

A comprehensive, 3 week training program is provided to all successful applicants.
