VRT

 Voice Response terminal

A technician's best friend in the field

By using VRT, this technician only needs to contact the Monitoring Centre if an urgent change is required.

The Voice Response Terminal or VRT, is SMC's remote access to place accounts on test or conduct structured safety welfare checks by using a tone or mobile phone.  VRT uses unique identity numbers for each user account, which is secured by individual user and personal identification numbers.  VRT allows your technicians to attend a monitored site and place the site in test mode within minutes.

VRT - what can it do for me?

Ease of Use

Technicians love VRT.  The easy to follow menu, voice prompts and ability to program their mobile phone to automatically place a system on test is invaluable.

Guard Welfare Checks

Not only can VRT assist technicians in their jobs. Compliance with welfare or safety check requirements VRT can be a valued service.  The guard calls the designated number and follows the prompts.  If no call is made to the VRT, an alarm event is presented to the SMC Monitoring Centre and the appropriate action is taken.  Coupled with a GPS mobile duress tracking system, this could be the safety solution you are looking for.

Time and Money

By using VRT, it saves the technician or security officer valuable time from calling SMC and allows them to get on with the job at hand.  As it take less than two minutes to place an account on test, it can save you money as your technician is not spending unnecessary time on company mobile phones.
